Bow At The Door, Clean Off Your Feet
Are you aware that in some styles of martial arts that you have to be trained before you enter the kwoon, the dojo, to bow at the door, so as to show a sign of respect to those that are already in the school, to the fellow martial art students and senior instructors? Have you been instructed by your senior instructors to have to be able to clean off your feet before and after you enter the sparring room?
As a sign of respect as you enter the door of the dojo or kwoon, whatever style you train in of your school, to show a sign of respect, you must bow at the door. You must also take off your shoes and leave them at the door, unless there are other requirements or instructions you have to have in which your instructor tells you as you enter the school. It is a sign of respect to take off your shoes at the door and leave them at the door, or as long as you take off your shoes and bring them with you to the changing room.
Before you enter or re-enter the sparring room, or the training room, you have to clean off your feet before you walk onto the mat, so that way you do no tread as much dirt as possible onto the mats. It is a sign of respect to the instructors, who takes a lot of their time to put those mats together and down on the floor.
