The Secret to Power Lunging and Power Kicking
Did you know that in order to have the strength to be able to do power lunging and power kicking that the strength not only comes in the legs, but also in the knees? Did you know that you have to have much stronger knees than you do legs in order to do those power lunges and power kicking in your martial art class?
Being able to do power lunging and power kicking in your martial art class, it does take a lot of strength in the legs. But behind the strength in those legs is the strength in the knees. If you do not have strong knees, there is a workout you can do in order to build stronger knees so you can have more power behind those legs of yours to be able to do power lunges and power kicks. And those are called squats.
It helps not only the strength in the knees, but also the strength in the lower back and also the strength in the torso as well as the strength in the hips, in which you are able to move those legs, to be able to do a square-off, and to be able to do the kick after you do the square-off. The next time you feel that you need to be able to get more strength in your power lunges and power kicks, do some squats.
You can do those squats with weights, or you can do those squats just plain and simple. It is better to do them plain and simple, then add the weights, because that will build more strength in your arms. You just need to focus on the legs first before you decide to add in the weights. The next time you want more strength in your power kicking and your power lunging, focus on the knees. When you focus on the knees, you will have much stronger strength in the legs.
