Seize The Moment
The title to this post, Seize the Moment, came from an upline coach of mine, in which he was talking about “Seizing the Moment” with his friends and crew while he was in Florida several years ago.
“Seize the moment.”
What does it mean to you? How does it translate to you in regards to you wanting to attain and rank up to the next belt in martial arts? Seize the moment!
How does it mean to you, and how does it translate to you in life in general?
Seizing the moment is like attaining an achievement in which you know you want really bad. Seizing the moment is keeping the faith in yourself, and taking a leap forward without knowing where you are going to go, how you’re going to get there, or what’s going to happen when you achieve that goal. Seize the moment.
How does it pertain to you when you feel like you can’t go on, and you are struggling, and you just don’t know what you need to do to get to that next step? You have to be able to believe in yourself. You have to have a strong foundation, a strong support system. If you do not have a strong support system, then you must by all means believe in yourself, with everything you do, with everything you’ve got, and know that inside some day in some way you will be able to achieve everything you wanted in life, and to be able to seize that moment.
To seize the moment, you must do three things:
1). Have faith in everything you do,
2). Take a leap of faith, not knowing where you are going to be, or how you are going to achieve that goal, to achieve that mission, to achieve that dream.
3). You know you need help to be able to seize that moment and be able to ask for it, because you may never know who will come through for you, to be able to help you, to seize that moment.
You can apply this in life, can be able to apply this in martial arts, can be able to apply this in anything that you do or want in life. So, the next time you feel your guard is down, or you are struggling, and you feel the need to want to just hide in a corner and cry, know that somewhere inside of you with all the belief that you have, support system or not, that you will be able to seize that moment sometime in the future.
