In My Own Words

Disorders Are Not Failures or Excuses

Disorders Are Not Failures or Excuses

I have learned throughout my adult life to accept my disability. It is never going to go away. I used to use it as an excuse for my failures, but now I accept it as a strength because I no longer refuse to accept it as an excuse. Failures are no longer an option for me. They just push me forward to do and be the best that I can be… because I do not and will not fail. I do not consider my disorders as failures or excuses anymore. I perceive failures now as baby steps to success.
